Reverse Logistics and Equipment Returns
Getting a big item back is often harder than delivering it. It has been unpacked, it may be heavy and awkward, and it is sitting inside someone's home or office with no box. Professional Moving Solutions handles returns, removals and haul-away for big and bulky items nationwide. Two-person crews pick the item up, wrap it for the trip, and bring it back to your warehouse, your repair location or wherever you tell us.
What reverse logistics covers
Reverse logistics is the last mile in the other direction. Instead of carrying a product in, the crew carries it out and moves it back up the supply chain. For a retailer or a manufacturer, that can mean a customer return, a unit that needs repair, an item swapped for a different model, or an old piece that has to go once the new one is in place.
We handle the same kinds of items we deliver: furniture, mattresses, appliances, fitness equipment, office furniture, medical equipment and other equipment that is too big or too heavy for a parcel carrier.
Customer returns of big and bulky items
When a customer sends back a sofa, a treadmill or a refrigerator, the return should be as easy for them as the delivery was. Our crew comes to the home or business, takes the item out without damaging floors, walls or door frames, and wraps it so it arrives back at your location in the condition it left the customer. You decide where it goes: your warehouse, a returns center, a repair shop or a vendor.
Removing the old unit when the new one arrives
Many customers do not want to be left with the item they are replacing. On a swap, the same two-person crew that brings the new unit in can take the old one out on the same visit. That saves the customer a second appointment and saves you a second truck. The old unit then goes back to you or is disposed of the way you instruct.
De-installing and wrapping for the trip back
Before an item can travel, it often has to be taken apart, emptied or prepared. Our crews disassemble furniture and equipment where needed, keep hardware and parts together, and protect each piece with blanket wrap. Items can also be palletized or crated for the return trip. If a unit is connected to power, water, gas or a network, the customer's own technician or installer disconnects it first, and we time our pickup around that visit.
Disposal handled your way
Some returns are not worth bringing back. When that is the case, we follow your instructions for disposal, whether that means taking the item to a donation point, a disposal facility or another location you choose. Tell us what you want done with each type of item and we will build it into the pickup.

Returns that protect your brand
A return is often the last time a customer deals with your company before deciding whether to buy again. Crews that show up ready, work carefully and leave the space clean make that last impression a good one. On-site supervisors and daily crew audits keep the standard the same on returns as on deliveries.
Reverse logistics fits alongside our last mile delivery and white glove delivery for the outbound trip, specialized delivery for unusual items, high value shipping for pieces that need extra protection, medical equipment delivery for clinical and home medical units, and trade show shipping for exhibits. Frequently asked questions
Can you pick up the old item when you deliver the new one?
Yes. On a swap, the crew can remove the old unit on the same visit and return it to you or dispose of it the way you instruct.
Where do returned items go?
Wherever you tell us: your warehouse, a returns center, a repair location or a vendor. Disposal is also available.
Do you disconnect appliances and equipment?
No. If an item is connected to power, water, gas or a network, the customer's own technician or installer disconnects it. We time the pickup around that visit.
Do you recycle or destroy data on returned equipment?
We do not offer certified recycling or data destruction. We follow your instructions for where each returned item goes.
