Threshold delivery, and how it compares to curbside, room of choice and white glove
Delivery terms get confusing fast. Threshold delivery, room of choice delivery and white glove delivery all describe how far into the home the crew carries the item and how much they do once they are there. Here is what each one means when Professional Moving Solutions makes the delivery.
What threshold delivery means
Threshold delivery means the item is carried across the threshold: just inside the entrance of the home or into the garage, instead of being left outside. With us, threshold delivery happens during a scheduled window and the customer signs when it is complete. It suits items that are too heavy or too valuable to leave on a porch but that the customer is happy to move and unpack themselves.
Curbside delivery
Curbside delivery is a porch or doorstep drop-off with photo proof. No appointment is needed.
Room of choice delivery
Room of choice delivery goes one step past the threshold. A two-person team carries the item to the room the customer chooses and places it there. Unpacking and assembly are not included at this level.
White glove delivery
White glove delivery is the full service: room placement plus unpacking, assembly, inspection, and removal of packaging and debris. Appliance installation is available.
Which delivery service level should you choose?
- Choose Curbside for sturdy items the customer can handle alone.
- Choose Threshold when the item should not sit outside but does not need to be carried further.
- Choose Room of Choice for heavy items that need two people and a specific room.
- Choose White Glove when the item needs assembly, careful handling or a finished result.
- Choose a Custom Program when you ship at volume and want branded uniforms, special handling, crating, multi-stop routing or dedicated peak-season capacity.

Threshold delivery means the item is carried just inside the entrance of the home or into the garage, during a scheduled window, with a signature on completion.
What is the difference between curbside and threshold delivery?
Curbside delivery leaves the item at the porch or doorstep with photo proof and no appointment. Threshold delivery brings it just inside the entrance or garage during a scheduled window, with a signature.

Threshold delivery ends just inside the entrance. White glove delivery adds room placement, unpacking, assembly, inspection and removal of packaging and debris.
Does room of choice delivery include assembly?
No. Room of choice delivery ends once the item is placed in the room. Assembly is part of white glove delivery.
What is two-man delivery?
Two-man delivery, also called two-person delivery, means two trained crew members make the delivery together. It is how heavy and bulky items are carried safely into a home. Our Room of Choice and White Glove deliveries are made by two-person teams.
